(Intro) It is cold Airless Forbidding The very precision of its operation Like a surrealistic dream We can measure its movement and depth But our minds cannot fathom its spiritual geometry There are those amongst us who can comprehend its physical forces But in the inner structure of our beings we have not yet digested its meaning From high above, seemingly placid To produce destructive potential Both physically and mentally Man has added some of his own (Some of his own) The insidious creeping The incredible awful and sudden power Having buffeted the Earth since it was born They offer you Your chance to live Racked and tormented Rampaging out of control Given names by man Hard, hostile, deadly A veneer of gentleness hides Constant, restless turmoil They leave indiscriminate devastation in their wake To produce destructive potential Both physically and mentally Man has added some of his own (Some of his own) The insidious creeping The incredible awful and sudden power Sometimes peaceful Often suddenly and violently not It is cold Airless Forbidding The very precision of its operation Like a surrealistic dream We can measure its movement and depth But our minds cannot fathom its spiritual geometry There are those amongst us who can comprehend its physical forces But in the inner structure of our beings we have not yet digested its meaning A distant cold beauty Silent Lonely Timeless From high above, seemingly placid To produce destructive potential Both physically and mentally Man has added some of his own (Some of his own) The insidious creeping The incredible awful and sudden power Having buffeted the Earth since it was born They offer you Your chance to live

about

One Night Closer to the End is long overdue to say the least. Some of the core elements here date back as early as 2002. It seems I’ve always been getting started on my solo project and never finishing it.

You learn a lot in a decade. Through this time, I've been exposed to many diverse musical influences, which I've attempted to mesh with the mid-90's ambient electronica sounds I know and love. It is my hope that this album serves as a retrospective in some ways; a catalog of the past decade of my musical life and a stepping off point for what is to come.

As a bonus to those downloading the album here, I've included six demo tracks. Unlike the majority of electronica demos I've heard, these illustrate the radical mutations most of these songs went through (the pitfalls and promise of holding on to your material for way too long). Without saying too much: vocals and disco strings.

From the beginning, I regarded this album as an experiment to understand how I work and where my weak points are in the creative process. Using this new knowledge, I'm much more confident about the future projects I have planned.

If you like what you hear, please share this album with others by directing them to this site, by liking the album on Facebook, by writing about it on your blog... For a new artist, exposure is the more important than anything.
